Surgery Appointments

TelephoneSurgeries and clinics are by appointment only, which can be made by telephone, or you can book in person at the surgeries. Appointments are normally booked for 10 minutes. If you feel you need longer, please ask for a double appointment at the time of your booking, especially if you have more than one problem or if you need a smear test for example. list of Doctors Procedures

If someone else wishes to come with you to your consultation, who wishes to be seen at the same time, they will need to book their own appointment. Therefore you may wish to book two appointments, one after the other.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please let us know in good time by contacting us on 734121 or 722381. This will give a better service to all our patients. We may be using a text messaging service in the future,  to remind you about your appointment and you will also have an opportunity to cancel your appointment by replying to the text "CANCEL". If you do not wish to use this service, you can opt out at any time by ringing the surgery.

Urgent / Home Visits

If your have an urgent problem, we will see you that same day. We will often fit you in between appointments or see you as soon as possible or at the end of a surgery. However, if you feel that you need to be seen immediately because you are suffering from either chest pains or severe shortness of breath, you may need to call an ambulance or go to the Accident & Emergency Department at the General Hospital.  Please ring us if you are unsure what to do. Although our receptionists are not trained to give clinical advice, they can ask a Doctor for urgent advice if necessary.

For urgent home visits please contact the surgery and we will arrange for the Duty Doctor to get in touch with you, to arrange a visit as soon as they can.

For routine home visits, please arrange with your usual Doctor at a mutually convenient time. Please ring 734121 during normal Practice Hours.Sometimes we are so busy that you may have to wait a while on the telephone. Please be patient and hold. You will get through, it’s just that the reception staff are doing their very best, even with four pairs of hands – please forgive us!

Some times are busier than others, so please be particularly patient on Monday mornings. Remember also that if you are phoning for blood results, to ring after 10am.
